The following selected projects give you an overview about our work in quite different areas of industry electronic.

Wheelchair simulator

Did you ever ride a wheelchair? Visiting the Science Center Medical Technology in Berlin you may try their wheelchair simulator and virtually explore a course near the Brandenburg Gate with ramps, bridges, curbs and cones. To ensure a high reliability for the audience and to simplify future software updates the control software is remade from scratch.


Temperature-rise tests for circuit breakers and switchgears

The temperature rise of any part of circuit breakers and switchgears at rated normal current shall not exceed the temperature-rise limits specified in various standards. This test bench sources the DUT with a current up to 10000A and monitors up to 100 selective temperatures. If one temperature exceeds its limits, the test is shut down automatically.


CoS test bench

An already existing CoS (Chip on Submount) test bench for acquisition of laser diode characteristics is duplicated. The underlying test concept and the measurement techniques used for data acquisition are both basically modernized, giving a way to measure laser diodes much quicker and efficiently while optimizing the stability of the whole test process.


Turbine disc centrifuge test

An already existing test bench for turbine discs used in airplanes and its measurement technique is upgraded. The result is a free configurable data recorder for up to 100 channels of different measurands (temperature, pressure, revolution speed) with the additional ability to stabilize the pressure on several points within the test bench using PID algorithms.


Collinear test bench

This test bench is used for performing resistance measurements of semiconductor samples. The measurement principle follows the Four-Point Method and calculates the volume resistivity using the law of superposition.


Module automat

Seamlessly integrated into the production process this test bench calibrates the quartzes of a wide variety of switching modules for home automation. The innovative and flexible software design allows the customer to create new test runs at any time and to integrate them dynamically.


Wafer prober

The software of a dated wafer prober (Karl Suss) with 15 axes is redeveloped, because the actual control PC goes on the blink and the control software cannot be transferred to another PC. Additionally new customer-specific control and measurement capabilities are implemented.


Wage slip system

This software uses MySQL via ODBC to manage incoming factory orders. Time and effort of the associated wage accounting are significantly reduced. A file-based interface transfers all evaluated data into the SAP system. All stock data are obtainable via Microsoft Access.


200-channel in-situ test bed, fitted in climatic chamber

This test bed allows long-time analysis of the electrical properties of solder connections. Up to 200 channels are scanned simultaneously, all integrated in a climatic chamber. The system is designed for a temperature operating range from -70°C to +250°C.


Advanced control software for ccd rows (CCDControl)

For ccd rows used in a spectroscope we modernized and enhanced the existent software drivers and developed a windows application which now allows to analyze time-variable spectra over any given period.


ICAMS test bed
(Isotropic Conductive Adhesive Measurement System)

This test bed aquires and analyses the long-term behaviour of isotropic adhesive bindings and other flip chip connection techniques concerning their electrical conductibility. Resistances below 10 milliohms have to be measured surely. (Photo: Fraunhofer IZM)


Exploration of electromigration within PbSn solder bumps

The effect of electromigration within PbSn solder bumps is examined by this test bed. The goal is its verification by a resistance analysis in milliohms range. (Photo: Fraunhofer IZM)


Measurement of the light efficiency of organic LEDs (OLED)

Efficiency and light intensity of up to 120 OLEDs are measured simultaneously over a period of several weeks or months. The results are used for evaluating different OLED technologies.


Extra production of a switching unit for communication lines

This device is used for telecontrol within the airport area. The main target during development was the design of hardware and software for extreme long-time operation.


Control for a biochemical analytical system

This novel inline measurement system for the pharmaceutic industry comprehends its microprocessor controlled functionality onto only one board. The manufacturing costs are thereby lowered considerably.


Recording and valuation of gas concentrations

This system is controlled by an 8051 derivate. A two-wire bus connects distributed gas sensors with the main system, which periodically requests and monitors the actual measurement data.


Gas measurement in liquids within the power station area

This system called "Hydrolyt" is a portable measurement system for aquisition and display of gas concentrations in liquids, used in the power station area.


Test bed for printed circuit board assembly

The test bed controlled by this software realizes semiautomatic tests of fully equipped circuit boards within the phase of final control before delivery.


Control of a pressure sensor test bed

This software controls a test bed, which conducts single as well as permanent tests with pressure sensors. The whole evaluation, realized by enhanced graphics and data tables, is already integrated.


Data base system for the manual engine test

This new data base system for aquired measurement data replaces the existing protocol sheets within the manual engine test.


Interpreter for interlock equations in substation

Interlock equations for airport substations, created in MS Excel, are crosschecked by this interpreter and exported in a format which can be read by an external comiler.


Interactive analysis of air and body sounds
of rail vehicles

This multithreading software aquires air and body sound characteristics of rail vehicles. The evaluated parameters are used for an early recognition of material defects.
